Migration and Time

Reflecting on this year’s IMISCOE conference and the role of time in understanding migration. After three years of strictly online conferencing, one of the largest international networks for migration research convened in Oslo (in-person and online) around the theme of temporalities in migration studies. This year’s IMISCOE conference offered a chance to reconnect with migration researchers from all over the world with so many excellent panels, workshops, semi-plenaries, plenaries and inspiring discussions. It was a wonderful experience and I am already looking forward to meeting everybody next year in Warsaw. It was a great joy to be part of the “Mobilizing the diaspora vote: External voting as a practice of external citizenship” panel and to contribute with a work-in-progress on Kosovan external voting. I look forward to future research collaboration around this topic!
